Guard Your Heart
There is a place on every heart
where self can enter in.
A place that’s hidden in the dark;
an opening so thin.
That even with a lens and light
your mind may never see,
the damage that this crack can bring
unless from self you flee.
It opens just a little
as a selfish thought walks by,
and wispers sounds of loveliness
to camouflage the lie.
Suddenly the tiny crack
has opened ever wide.
And in a flash the selfishess
is gobbled up inside.
When inside it shreds the heart
and searches for the soul.
Once the soul is slave to self
the mind relents control.
A power so great this tiny crack
to tear our lives apart.
It pays if you a friend allow
to help you guard your heart. rhc

How powerful!!! This poem is so true.
